Add-on: MDN Extended

MDN Extended (Message Disposition Notification) is an add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird which allows the sender of a message to ask the recipient to send a notification.

This notification can be one of the followings:

• a Read receipt: the recipient notifies that he has read the message.
• a Delete receipt: the recipient notifies that he has deleted the message.

By default, Thunderbird handles only Read receipt. The goal of this extension is to handle the Delete receipt in order to be fully compliant with the specification.

Requirements

Trustedbird is needed only to update one message in the user interface but is not strictly required.

Installation

1. Download add-on mdn-extended.
2. In Mozilla Thunderbird, select Tools menu and then Add-ons.
3. Press Install button and select previously downloaded file.

Usage

To use MDN functionality, you can refer to the standard documentation.

The handling of Delete receipt is the same as Read receipt.
