What is Milimail ?
Milimail project is a set of plugins and a client based on Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail client. It is an extension to add protocols such as X400 and XSMTP as well as features to improve the management of urgent messages and security.
What is the cost of Milimail ?
Milimail plugins an Milimail Client are free. Developed under General Public Licence MPL version 1.1, GPL version 2.0 and LGPL version 2.1, you can download them via Admisource.
Why are there features for military contexts ?
The features concerned are based on non confidential military formats which could also be useful in a civilian context, for example management of message priority.

What configuration is required to use Milimail ?
Milimail consists of plugins for Milimail Client based on Mozilla Thunderbird. The configuration required is therefore that recommended for Mozilla Thunderbird e-mail client.
I don't see XSMTP Button in the compose window, however the XSMTP is well installed ?
The extension XSMTP is integrated into the toolbarpalette of the "compose" window.
In order to make it visible and usable follow the step below:
- Make a right click on tool bar of the "compose" window.
- Choose and click on "Personalizing" .
- Choose and drag & drop the icon XSMTP on the tool bar.

Who is the project founder ?
The project, initiated by the DGA, is backed by the French Ministry of Defence.
Who directs the community ?
To ensure the success of the project, the DGA called on a number of experts and professionals from the world of general public software. In addition, anyone is welcome to contribute to the life of the community by taking part in the development or pointing out bugs.
How can I help with Milimail ?
There are many ways to take part in the development of Milimail in community mode: - participate in the tests and point out any bugs, - help write and translate the documents, - participate in the software development

Can I copy and distribute Milimail extensions ?
Milimail is distributed under public licence MPL version 1.1, GPL version 2.0 and LGPL version 2.1, you are therefore entitled to copy the software and distribute it whilst complying with the licence.
